One Nation Underground

ATC are one of the only indie bands to exist in Bahrain since the departure of Elephant Race. Relatively new to the scene, they are on the softer side compared to "most" bands in Bahrain. ATC are among the few on the island to play indie, alternative and rock.

The band used to jam under the name of Audio Generation for a year until they made the transition to "& The Centurions". When asked about this, front man Mazen Almaskati replied "Audio Generation came as a concept. As youngsters, we like many people our age were heavily influenced by music and it was a part of our day to day lives. If you look around, we have gradually evolved into an audio generation as it's role in peoples lives grows greater. So likewise, we wanted to cater for and represent that class of "audio generation-ists" with our music. we changed our name to & The Centurions after a very "memorable" night to say the least. After completing the ever popular drinking game "Centurions", we knew we had to link our name to such an epic night.

If you ask me, ATC have a very experimental sound. Without a doubt, & The Centurions have it in them to make original, chilled out music that you can listen to anytime of the day without losing your head. I was curious to know how this talented group of musicians came together. Meeting often through friends and at parties it wasn't long before they realized their similar tastes in music. After more focused rehearsal and making their own tracks, releasing snippets to the public they realized the sounds they could produce would be appreciated and listened to by many.

When asked about their influences, ATC gave an answer as simple as "Music, Women & Food".
